Were You There?
For the Glory
Gettysburg, PA
June 19, 2006

Well, this is again THAT moment when I am trying to find the words to tell you what this weekend's opening of FOR THE GLORY @ Gettysburg was like. ROB was vocally splendid, outrageous, tender and passionate!

Those of us that knew and loved and lived the music of The Civil War have no reason to be sad any more!!! The music, the spirit is ALIVE AGAIN!!!

Rob is singing the Southern Captain, and that was as brilliant a bit of casting as ever could be. This man lets his passion come through in his singing, and there was hardly a dry eye when he had finished VIRGINIA and LAST WALTZ FOR DIXIE. The applause, the cheering, and then the silence as the words sunk in were deafening.

The FOR THE GLORY incarnation that you will see in Gettysburg is different. It is more compact, and thus even more compelling. It is shorter, and some songs have been cut. The majesty of the ones that remain need to be heard by you, so DO IT!!

Gettysburg, Pa, is not that far. You will NOT be pleased at YOU if you do not get there. TOUR the sites, then come and hear the sounds of history as only ROB and a talented cast can do them. For more info visit www.gettysburgmajestic.org or www.fortheglorythemusical.com.

I really hope to see you there. You will not regret the trip.
