Were You There?

Chess (2nd performance)
Last night was the second of the two
scheduled concerts to benefit BC/EFA, and believe me, lots of
folks benefited. The audience that was privileged to be there
benefited from the glory and the passion of ALL the performers,
most especially Rob, Alice Ripley, Christiane, and the other
principals that I already listed in my first week's review. The
ensemble was as great and supportive as before, if NOT moreso. The
only change was the part of the American Freddie. This week he was
played by Dave Clemmons.
Every seat in the Houseman was filled, and
the roar of the applause ricocheted around us. Again, ANTHEM, as
sung by Rob was moving and masterful, as is the man himself.
SOMEONE ELSE'S STORY showed Alice at her vocal best, at least
IMHO. Christiane rocked and grooved every time she sang a note!
WOW!!!
To them all, from producer ROB, to singer
ROB, to Neil Berg, to Philip Hoffman, to every person who worked
so very hard to get this done, I extend my own THANX, and the
thanx of the REFC, and yes, the thanx of all who were there.
The bottom line must be a tribute to them
all, and all of us who contributed. BC/EFA received a check for
$39,000. BRAVO!!!
